Ibanez Tube Screamer Vst Plugin

Released in late 1979, the Ibanez Tube Screamer TS808. overdrive pedal quickly became legend for its dynamic, touch-sensitive distortion, and throaty midrange. A mainstay on the pedalboards of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Johnson, Brad Paisley, and more, the TS808 holds a hallowed place in guitar lore. Mercuriall Audio Software’s Tubes Creamer 808 Core is a free virtual Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer pedal emulation that you can use in your DAW. The infamous Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer pedal is associated with artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan with his incendiary Texas Blues guitar playing.

Overview

The Brainworx bx_greenscreamer Overdrive is an exacting plugin emulation of the classic Ibanez™ TS808® Tube Screamer®, one of the most popular overdrive pedals ever made. Although most closely connected with Stevie Ray Vaughan, guitarists from Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, to Steve Vai to John Mayer have made this classic pedal a key component of their tone.
So what made this pedal so special? Well, first take light-to-medium overdrive and add electronic field-effect (FET) bypass switching. Next, mix it with transistor buffers at both the input and output and bake it with an IC chip that produces symmetrical clipping of the input waveform. The result is the creation of a boutique pedal legend.
The Tube Screamer first appeared in 1979 in its original version -- now highly sought-after and collectible. While all other overdrives built prior to this model were built around transistors, this pedal was the first overdrive to use the JRC 4558D integrated circuit (IC) chip. It is the most important component to the pedal’s sound and is responsible for its distinctive, thick, vocal-like, mid-range tone.
The Brainworx bx_greenscreamer is a component level emulation of this classic pedal, capturing all the warm drive and tone and putting it right inside your DAW. In addition, the plugin version allows you to do some things you could never do with a pedal, like automate all parameters, process a stereo buss or run multiple instances. Download the full function 14-day demo (no dongle required!) today to add this classic overdrive to your plugin arsenal.

  • Noise

I get about 90% of my plugins from PA, they are pretty much some of the best quality out there! But this one, it's pretty noisy, lots of hiss stuff going on, maybe that's intentional, the foot pedal… Read More
  • Okay

Not bad. I’ve got a real one and hate the hiss. When I record I use a DI going through my Lynx Aurora, then into a reamp box. I think I prefer using this in my daw between the DI and reamp box… Read More
  • It screams not only in green but all colours

The only criticism is it can get a bit fizzy when pushed, but it adds nice harmonic interplay wherever you stick that tone dial.
  • bx_greenscreamer

Very smooth sounding and sounds great with a slight overdrive into the bx_rockrack
  • Green Screamer

A great tool does just what I hoped.
